Thomas C. Gannon:: I am an Associate Professor of English and Ethnic Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. My teaching specializations
include Native American Literature(s) and Lit-Crit/Theory. My research interests often involve a combination of Native American studies (especially in terms of
colonial discourse theory) and ecocriticism (in particular, the representation of other species in literary and popular discourse). I am an enrolled member of
the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe (Mnikoju Lakota).
My avocations include life-long obsessions with music (jazz, blues, & metal guitar—& songwriting) and with birding. This latter
hobby has wedded nicely with a much more recent one, that of digital photography. But this brief blurb barely scratches the surface of my many (unfortunately
often passing) intellectual & artistic enthusiasms, many of which are evidenced in this set of web pages. To paraphrase an old poem of mine, life has steered
me into becoming a "jack of all trades, master of one . . . ." Unfortunately, that "one" is probably the only talent I cannot present on
this site.
